PROGRAM DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS

The IGERT interdepartmental training program is intended to foster links among departments and provide graduate training and opportunities in three areas: functional genomics, computational biology, and evolution. Students are chosen from each of these areas but are expected to obtain training across all three disciplines.

The program offers two types of fellowships: Two-year fellowships are offered to incoming Ph.D. students, and one-year fellowships are offered to students who are already in a Ph.D. program at the University of Arizona. Students may be in any Ph.D. program at the University of Arizona but must be US citizens or permanent residents to be eligible for fellowship support. Application procedures
can be found here. Below, the requirements and guidelines for two-year fellows and one-year fellows are outlined along with other opportunities for all fellows. Further questions may be addressed to the IGERT Director (Michael Nachman) or to members of the IGERT Steering Committee (John Kececioglu, David Maddison, Nancy Moran, Howard Ochman, Maria Teresa Velez, and Donata Vercelli).
